 Hi everyone!  So I've been OBSESSING over wedge platforms lately.  I tend to like wearing heels because I am 5' 1" and it doesn't help much that my friends are all like 5' 5" or taller!  So I find wedge platforms to work for me at the best!  They give me some serious height boost and I can actually walk in them!   Here are some of my favorites for the summer.

Hello everyone!  We are really excited to announce our new MEET THE BLOGGER series!  Every month we will introduce you to two bloggers (fashion, lifestyle, interior/decor, or food/restaurant bloggers.) Today we are excited to introduce you to Ashley from ASHES INTO FASHION.   Ashley is a petite Latina fashion blogger from Dallas, TX.  She blogs about her everyday outfits and celebrity "looks for less".   She even caught the eye of Kourtney Kardashian where she gave a little shout out to Ashley on her blog.  Her Kardashian sisters style posts are amazing, which gives shopping advise on how to get the look on a budget.  So we were so happy when Ashely agreed to our interview request for our MEET THE BLOGGER series.  Here is the interview.

Q:  Why did you start blogging?

A:  I decided to start blogging to distract me from a move I made from Dallas to El Paso for 2 years I started with a different blog to form part of my youtube channel @Ashleyrubi1 where I would blog about trends, celebrities , reviews… things that I love which I really never updated. Once I moved back to Dallas thats when I decided to start over fresh with a new blog and Ashes into Fashion was born on May 2011 focusing more on me what I wear + celebrity inspired outfits rather then what my other blog was about, updating 3-4 times a week if possible.

Q:  How do you shop/find clothes to do your Kardashian inspired outfits? 

A:  Mainly all my Kardashian inspired outfits are done with things out of my own closet, I love to work with what I already own, so If I see a Kardashian outfit I like and I know I have similar things I'll recreate it. If I ever do need something to complete and create an outfit I add that item to my Shopping List  which I post every 2 months on my blog.

Q: Which Kardashian style do you identify yourself with the most,  or which sister's style do you like the most? 

A: I love the uniqueness of them all of them but I identify my style more with Kourtney ! She's daring, never know what to expect. Sometimes in trend, sometimes taking risks. reason she's my favorite and one of my top style icons.  I dress as I please, most of the time I decide on what to wear depending on what the weather allows me to wear.  

Q: What is your favorite Poshlocket jewelry? 

A:  My favorite items are mainly the bracelets.  The Oria Gold Tip Leather Cuff, which I own.  I also love the simplicity of the Ricki Prism Cube Cuff in the gold and rose gold.  The pops of color in the Cora Gold Candy Gem Cuff in aqua and teal, and can't forget to mention the Debra Leather Snap Cuff in mint and pink.  Also the Rooney Square Ring.

The craze of "Hunger Games" is creating a CRAZE for our Harlow Arrow Bangles! April 08 2012, 0 Comments

I finally watched the Hunger Games!  I wanted to watch it on the opening night but did myself a favor by NOT deciding to not wait in line 2 hours before the midnight show opening in NYC.  I absolutely LOVED it...although I thought the love scene between Katniss and Peeta was a little cheezy but it was far more bearable than Edward and Bella in Twilight.    Back when I was in college I watched a Japanese film titled Battle Royale where the premise of the story was very similar to the Hunger Games:  a bunch of Japanese high school kids being sent to a gaming zone where they are forced to fight each other to their death, until there's one victor, just not televised like the Hunger Games.   So I thought that the Hunger Games would be a very familiar plot line for me but it still had me on edge the entire time!   Can't wait till the next one comes out!  Oh and I am absolutely in love with Jennifer Lawrence.  She's definitely going to become one of those Oscar winning actresses.

So I heard that because of the Hunger Games, kids are signing up for archery classes!    And for sure our arrow bangles are going to ride that craze!  Arrows = Katniss!!!  Don't you want one too?  These are one of our best selling bangles after all.

I know that it's spring and ultimately closer to summer when nail polish brands launch their new spring/nail colors.  Like most girls, I am a total "mani and pedi kind of girl.  Love mixing and matching several colors on ONE hand.    Spring and summer is definitely more fun  when it comes to doing your nails because there's just so many BRIGHT and PASTELLY colors to play around with!   And won't be wearing any gloves/mittens so you can show off your beautiful nails everywhere anytime.  Here are some of my favorite colors of the season.  Wouldn't these be perfect  with our enamel bracelets and bright/nude color leather bracelets?!!

Team Courtney or Team Lindsey? Bachelor Season 16 Finale March 31 2012, 0 Comments

THE BACHELOR SEASON 16

Okay, I know that I'm totally late...the season finale for "The Bachelor" Season 16 ended on 3/12 but I keep on reading about Ben, Lindsey, and Courtney on all the online tabloids.  I'm not really a huge fan of the show but since it's been receiving so much hype because of how "unfavorable" Courtney was so I actually did watch the ending of the finale.  I knew Ben was going to choose Courtney, given that everyone hated her, even his own mom and sister.    So in the finale, Courtney Robertson and Lindsey Cox both wore a black dress.  I didn't like the color choice but they did both look very elegant.  Who's dress did you like better?  Courtney's or Lindsey's?  My vote goes to Lindsey.

So I know I haven't done a blog post for our website in a while but am ready to get back to posting  more regularly.  As you all know, Poshlocket is based in New York, so we sometimes spot celebrities when we're just hanging out in the city.  Couple weeks ago I was shopping in the West Village when Olivia Wilde walked right pass me!  I actually almost didn't recognize her because she wasn't wearing anything ostentatious and I believe she wasn't wearing any make up either.  She was wearing blue jeans with a pair of sneakers and a hoodie, very casual.  She was walking with someone, a women who I thought was either her assistant or a friend.  Anyways, the important thing is I did recognize her and I knew that she knew that I recognized her because our eyes met and I was just staring right at her for like 5 seconds!    I am a huge fan of Olivia Wilde, I think she's an amazing actress and she's so beautiful!  Love her huge eyes!   Well, I'm not much of a crazy fan type so I was just sucking in the excitement of seeing her in real life.    Here are some photos of her that I found.   I loved her not-so-simple black dress that she wore to the Vogue Fashion Awards in November 2011.

It's all over the internet! Everyone's talking about Rihanna's plunging (HUGE PLUNGE) black dress at the Grammy Awards last night.   Well, besides all the comments about Nicki Minaj's exorcism performance and Adele sweeping the Grammys, I feel like Rihanna's dress is receiving some major buzz.  I agree though, that custom-made black dress looked SOO good on her.  She looked sexy, chic, and luxurious.    We thought she looked absolutely gorgeous last night.   What did you think?

Now I HAD to write a post mentioning this year's Super Bowl.   Giants vs. Patriots!!!   Remember back in 2008??!  We have both Patriots and Giants fan here at Poshlocket so this Super Bowl was a much anticipated event for everyone.  I personally like watching the Super Bowl because of all the commercials :)  Did you see David Beckham's new H&M "Bodywear" commercial?!  I mean the man is BREATHTAKING! Oh and the brown M&M commercial, thought it was cute.  

Congratulations to the New York Giants, 2012 Super Bowl champions! 

Okay so what I really wanted to post were the celebrity appearances at the Super Bowl game.

So everyone in fashion/retail has been talking about Ann Taylor hiring Kate Hudson as their brand ambassador for their Spring 2012 campaign.   Ann Taylor is known for their high-profile celebrity ad campaigns so now Kate Hudson is following the footsteps of Katie Holmes, Demi Moore, and Naomi Watts (just to name a few).  I just saw some photos from their spring campaign photo shoot and she looks gorgeous!!     She's definitely known to many for her boho-chic/rocker sexy look but she can totally rock the clean simple silhouette and soft pastel attire!   I mean what can you say, the woman's beautiful!  What can she not rock?!!

Did everyone see the People’s Choice Award last night?   My gosh, I (Camile from Poshlocket) am in LOVE with IAN SOMERHALDER from “The Vampire Dairies": and man, was he lookin DELICIOUSsss yesterday.    Although I did have to say something about Robert Pattinson’s attire and haircut…I think he could have maybe tried a teeny weenie bit harder to look a little less…umm…"I'm going to go pick up some milk at the groceries” look?

Anyways, I absolutely adored all the outfits host Kaley Cuoco wore.  She sort of did a winter whites theme:   elegant, feminine and glamorous.   But what I want to focus on this blog post is the three red carpet outfits that would be perfect match with our new cubic stud earrings (just in today!)

Whitney Cummings didn’t really go for a hot-off-the-runway look, but instead wore a chic green sequins ASOS dress.  The dress itself with a simple black pencil belt and black platforms will do it all.  But the perfect cherry on top would be to accessorize with a clean black cubic stud earring, how about our Fiona Cubic Studs in black?
